COLFAX - Funeral services for Ruth L. Kintz, 84, of Colfax, will be Wednesday at the Howard Street Christian Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Carpe, pastor of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Baxter.

Visitation will be Tuesday after noon at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

She died Sunday, June 15, at Heritage manor in newton.

The daughter of Frank and Mary Goodwin Starr, she was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Kellogg. She was a 1930 graduate of Marshalltown High School and attended the Iowa State Teachers college-Normal Training.

She married Russell Kintz Nov. 4, 1930, in Des Moines.

Mrs. Kintz was employed by Northwestern Bell as a elephone operator. She was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Keith Russell of Colfax and Nancy and Bart Basirico of Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, June 16, 1997
