GRINNELL — Floyd C. Stepp, 90, of Grinnell died on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

A graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg with the Rev. Jeff Lee, pastor of the Lynnville Friends Church, officiating.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell from noon to 6 p.m. today. Memorials may be directed to Kellogg Fire Department or Kellogg Historical Society.

The son of Aught and Mollie Delk Stepp, he was born July 7, 1915, in Monticello, Ky. The family moved to Kellogg, where he attended rural school. On June 19, 1937, he married Wanda Hill in Newton. The couple lived in Grinnell and later moved to Kellogg, where he worked for the Midwest Manufacturing Company as a die setter for more than 40 years. He retired in 1980 and moved to St. Francis Manor in Grinnell in 2003. He was a member of the Kellogg Volunteer Fire Department and the United Molders Union. He enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling.

Survivors include one son, Gordon (Bev) Stepp of Grinnell; one daughter, Fontella (Wilbur) Terpstra of Lynnville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Flonnie Matherly of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one son, Richard Stepp, who died in infancy; one brother, Menvil Stepp; and three sisters, Maggie Foster, Pearl Clifton and Della Stepp.
