Ethel M. Eaton Dies Sunday; Services Tuesday

Mrs. George J. (Ethel M.) Eaton, 81, of 624 E. 5th St. S., a resident of Newton for 35 years, died Sunday at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Bruce Donham, pastor of the Foursquare Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cmetery.

Survivors are two sons, Melvin Wooten of California and Harold Wooten of Des Moines; a step-son, Elvin W. Eaton of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Witt of Douds; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Wooten, and second husband, George J. Eaton.

She was born Feb. 5, 1892 in Soldier.

She was married to George J. Eaton in June 1942, in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, Monday, July 9, 1973
