Betty L. Daniels, 78, of Newton died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
There will be no visitation. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of James Louis and Pansy Marie Moore-McKinley Brugett, she was born April 13, 1927, in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1945. She married Hollister L. Meadows Sr. and later married Remus Daniels. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, reading and working crossword puzzles. She lived in Des Moines, Indianola and Newton.

Mrs. Daniels is survived by two sons, Jack Meadows Jr. of Arizona and Donald Meadows of Omaha, Neb.; six daughters, Susan Harris of Florida, Jeanne Menefee of Monroe, Betty Ann Kilgore of Missouri, Marietta Meadows of Des Moines, Kelli Lockridge of West Des Moines and Patty Wells of Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Lewis Burgett of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, second husband and a brother, Donald Donaldson.
