Death of Pioneer
Mr. Peter Pentico, An Early Settler
Dies at His Home Near Colfax

Peter Pentico, a pioneer resident of Jasper County, died at his home near Colfax, Tuesday, a victim of dropsy and heart disease.

Mr. Pentico was more than seventy years old and lived in Mound Priarie Township for many years.

Deceased leaves besides his widow, three sons, Roy of Metz and a daughter who resides in Des Moines. Mr. Pentico was a man of high moral standing and one who had the esteem of every one with whom he came in contact. ~ The Newton Herald, Newton, Iowa, Friday, March 26, 1909, page 5.
