BAXTER -- Nettie I. Snook, 83, a former resident of Newton, died today, March 2, at the Colonial Manors in Baxter.

Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements which have not been completed.

BAXTER -- Funeral services for Nettie I. Hannagan Snook, 83, of Colonial Manors in Baxter, a former resident of Newton, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. Paul Nulton, pastor of the Community Reformed Church in Newton, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions to the Community Reformed Church will be accepted.

She died Thursday morning at the Manors.

Survivors are two sons, Elmer of Newton and Kenneth of Des Moines; a daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Robert) Youngkin, of Newton; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Abbie Lampshire of Corona, Calif., and Bernice Toedt at Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl, Dec. 7, 1963, a son, Ivan J. April 3, 1943 and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Snook, a homemaker, was a member of the Community Reformed Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

The daughter of James and Bessie Coforth (sic-Goforth) Hannagan, she was born Jan. 9, 1906 in Newton.

She was married to Earl E. Snook Jan. 21, 1923 in Newton.
