Schut, Cora (Vos) 1898-1989

Cora Schut

PELLA -- Cora Vos Schut, 90, a resident of Fairhaven East in Pella for the past eight years, and a former longtime resident of Prairie City, died of a heart condition Saturday, March 11, at the Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

The Rev. Thomas Wetselaar, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Friends may call at the Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to Fairhaven East in Pella or the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church organ fund will be accepted.

Survivors are a son, Gilbert J. of Pella; a daughter, Bernice L. Brish of Le Grand; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Edwin Vos of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Jeanette Wallace of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerrit.

Mrs. Schut was a member of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

The daughter of Brand and Dena Michmershuizen Bos, she was born Sept. 25, 1898 in Pella and attended Pella schools.

She was married to Gerrit Schut Dec. 13, 1919 in Prairie City.

PELLA -- Funeral services for Cora Bos Schut, 90, a resident of Fairhaven East in Pella, and longtime former resident of Prairie City, were held today, March 14, at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

The Rev. Thomas Wetselaar, pastor of the church, conducted services and burial was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

She died Saturday at the Pella Community Hospital.

The daughter of Brand and Dena Michmershuizen Bos, she was born Sept. 25, 1898 in Pella.
