Carl Frederick Wierschke, 51, of Rt. 2, Box 460, Newton, a resident of Newton since 1964, died of cardiac arrest this morning, June 15, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

Services will not be held.

Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions to the Lung Association or American Heart Association will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Clara; six sons, Frederick, Michael and Donald, all of Newton, Mark of Grinnell, Jesse, stationed with the Air Force in Loring Air Force Base, Maine, and Glenn of Pleasant Hill; a grandchild; and a step-grandson.
