COLLINS -- Funeral services for Erma Lee Barrett Winegar, 90, of Prairie City, a lifelong Prairie City and Mitchellville area resident, were held today at the Prairie City Christian Church.

The Rev. Marshall Myers, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Walter-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.

She died Saturday, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Surviving is a sister, Lucille Schaeffer of Mitchellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, and a sister, Gladys Winegar.

Mrs. Winegar, a member of the Prairie City Christian Church, had taught school in Prairie City and Humboldt, prior to being employed at Roberts Brothers and De Witt Grocery.

The daughter of Alfred and Melinda Gilbert Barrett, she was born May 3, 1898 between Prairie City and Mitchellville, was a 1916 graduate of Mitchellville High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls.

She was married to Roy Winegar April 28, 1934 in Mitchellville.
