Barbara E. Lewis

Barbara E. Lind Lewis, 66, of 326 N. 15th Ave. W., a resident of Newton since June, 1948, died Monday morning, Jan. 30, at the Skiff Medical Center of complications of pulmanary disease.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Frederick Kramer, SKiff Medical center chaplain, will conduct services.

Cremation will be held.

Memorials to the Camp Fire Girls and Boys organization will be accepted.

Survivorys are her husband, John; six nieces; and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Loren, and a sister, Helen.

Mrs. Lewis, a homemaker, had worked at Bell telephone Co. in Des Moines and VandeKamp Bakery in San Fernando, Calif.

The daughter of John August and Elsie Bechtel Lind, she was born April 4, 1928 in Stuart and was graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School.

She was married to John W. Lewis June 27, 1946 in San Fernando, Calif. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton Iowa, January 31, 1995.
