Ruth Ver Heul

MONROE -- Ruth Ver Heul, 74, of Monroe, a lifelong resident of the Monroe area, died Saturday, June 17, at the Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor of the Newton United Methodist Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Monroe Garden Chapel Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials to the Monroe Ambulance Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Carl; two sons, Donald of Atlanta, Ga., and Darrell of Monroe; three daughters, Betty (Mrs. Paul) Tiffany of Columbus Junction, Jeanine (Mrs. Dick) Marsden of Red Oak and Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Eilander of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ver Heul was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Dunaway.

She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The daughter of James C. and Jessie Clark Dunaway, she was born Feb. 21, 1915 in Jasper County.

She was married to Carl Ver Heul June 25, 1937.
