Loutricia K. Shrum

Loutricia K. "Lucy" Kissinger Shrum, 59, of Rt. 2, Box 134, Newton, a resident of Newton since 1953, died Saturday afternoon, Jan 23, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center of cancer in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or the American Cancer Society will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Bob; two daughters, Robin (Mrs. Bruce R.) Baldwin of Port Orange, Fla., and Lee Ann (Mrs. Mark) Butler of Baxter; three grandchildren; a step-sister, Marilyn Andrews of Marshalltown;' and a special friend, Ron Backus of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Shrum was an office clerk at the Maytag Co. until retiring in 1981.

The daughter of Emmett and Verna Holdsworth Kissinger, she was born Dex. 13, 1933 in Pershing and was a 1951 graduate of Attica High School.

She was married to Robert D. Shrum April 20, 1957 in Unionville, Mo. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, January 25, 1993.
