Mrs. Rose Hammerly Died Nov. 10th in Oregon

Was former Resident of Greencastle and Colfax Communities

Friends received word here late last week of the death of Mrs. Rose Hammerly of Albany, Oregon, Nov. 10th. She was a former resident of this community and well known by the older residents of the vicinity.

The following notice of her passing appeared in the Albany newspaper:
Mrs. Frank Hammerly, 65, widow of the late Frank Hammerly died at the Albany General Hospital at 3:30 a.m. today, Nov. 10. Mrs. Hammerly was born in Greencastle, Iowa, Jan 13, 1871. She grew to womanhood in that state and was married to Frank Hammerly at Colfax, Iowa, in 1893. Mr. Hammerly died in Albany, June 26th, 1935. They came to Oregon in 1909 and resided most of the time since then in Albany.
Surviving is an only son, Hugh Hammerly of Albany. Mrs. Hammerly was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Funeral rites will be held from Fisher-Braden Funeral Chapel at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Rev. Henry Albers is to officiate. Interment will be made in the family plot in the Riverside Cemetery.
