Colfax Physician Dead
Colfax, Ia., July 14 – Dr. George W. Jones, for fifteen years a well known physician of this city, died at 7:30 o’clock tonight from injuries received when he slipped from the step of his buggy in front of his office yesterday afternoon.
Dr. Jones was about to enter his buggy to make some calls on patients, when his foot slipped on the step of the vehicle, and he fell heavily across the dashboard. He was carried into his office almost unconscious.(Newspaper Clipping - Publisher Unknown)

Dr. George W. Jones for the past fifteen years a resident of Colfax and a well-known physician died last Saturday night. On Friday while attempting to get into his buggy in front of his office his foot slipped and he received severe injuries. He fell heavily across the dashboard. He was almost unconscious and carried into his office, but it was not thought at the time that the injury would prove fatal. It was later discovered that he had received internal injury and Saturday had two hemorrhages, and died about 7:30 Saturday.
