COLFAX — Dorothy Pearl Jones, 77 of Colfax died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, in Newton.

A funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with burial following at Mitchellville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Dorothy Jones Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Gail and Esther Kern Teed, she was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Mingo. On July 19, 1947, she married Oren Jones in Mitchellville. She was a member of the Hope Assembly Church of God in Colfax.

She is survived by her children, Dan Jones and girlfriend Deb Birkenholtz of Des Moines, Victor Jones of Colfax, Jeff (Judy) Jones of Colfax and Steven Jones of Newton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings Helen Beard of Colfax, Ruby Beard of Arizona, Gail Teed Jr. of Colfax, Bonnie McCart of Corydon, Henrietta Nichols of Cedar Rapids, Leland Teed of Ankeny and Richard Teed of Colfax.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant daughter Janice; two brothers, Ed Teed and George Teed; and one sister, Donna Smith.
