David Ward of 331 Main St who suffered a stroke of apoplexy Sunday passed away yesterday morning about 9:00 a.m. Mr. Ward had been quite well until the time he suffered his stroke Sunday but after that he never rallied. He is a little past 70 years of age and leaves a wife and one son. He is an old soldier but not a member of the local post. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10:00 at Ontario, Rev. Harris will officiate. Ames Evening Times 4/1/1914

The funeral of the late David Ward of Ames was held from the church here Thursday morning at 10:30 conducted by Rev. L. C. Harris of the Church of Christ, Ames.

David Ward was born 2/27/1844 in Huron County, Ohio and died 3/31/1914 in Ames, Story County, Iowa.
