Swallwell 60th Anniversary 1932

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Swallwell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at their home Saturday, May 7. 125 relatives and friends enjoyed the dinner at noon. The time was spent informally with music and visiting. Wm. Gardener, who was at the wedding, May 7, 1872, was a special guest. Their thirteen children and families, Mrs. Andrew Oswalt of Dollwar, Mrs. A. J. Oswalt of Colo, Mrs. Bert Vilas of Storm Lake, Mrs. Hilmar Bark of Des Moines, Belva, Iva and Ada Swallwell of Collins, Tom Jr. of Illinois, Cris of South Dakota, Jay of Wisconsin, George and James of Baxter, Charles of Maxwell were all present. Mr. Swallwell was born in Yorkshire, England, Mar. 19, 1844. He came to Iowa over sixty years ago and is one of the largest farmers and stock feeders in the county. Mrs. Swallwell, who was Harriet Kimberly, was born in New York, June 1, 1852. They live on their comfortable farm home and enjoy their family and friends. ~ Probably a Colfax, Iowa paper, Thursday, May 12, 1932.
