25, 50-Year Members Honored by O.E.S.

25, 50-Year Members Honored by O.E.S.
Twenty-five and fifty-year members were honored at the recent meeting of Newton No. 100 Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. and Mrs. Val Dean Olson presided over the meeting.
Fifty-year members receiving their pins and certificates were Neva Peterson, Mrs. Lela Morris and Mrs. Irene Scofield. Other 50-year members present were Mrs. Marie Olsen, Mrs. Lucille Dennis, Mrs. Frost Brooke, Mrs. Lela Andrews, Mrs. Mable Doane, Mrs. Pauline Wentzel and Pete Olsen.
Certificates for 25 years of membership were presented to Mrs. Vera Van Gilst, Mrs. Ruth Gross, Mrs. Betty Gause, Mrs. Janet Richards, Mrs. Neal Broadstone, Mrs. Leona Scheel, Mrs. Mabel Gooding, Mrs. Dorotha Steenhoek and Dick Steenhoek.
Other 25-year members present were Mrs. Opal Allen, Mrs. Emma Jackson, Mrs. Irene White, Mrs. Edna Cohn, Mrs. Kenneth Young, Mrs. Albert Wallace, Mrs. Harold Paschal and Mrs. Hazel Breckenridge. Also, Mrs. Maud Logsdon, Ardis Loupee, Mrs. Paul Peck, Mrs. Iva Moles, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Mick, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Vance, Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Woody, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Harv Jennings and Mr. and Mrs. Rayford Meredith.
Olson gave the Century 100 Club report. Mrs. Olson read a poem and gave a tribute to all mothers. Committee reports were presented by Mrs. Logsdon, Mrs. Robert Kilfoil, Mrs. Robert Howe and Logan.
Announcement was made of an official visit May 31. There will be a 6 p.m. potluck and a meeting following at 7:30. Reservations must be sent to Mrs. Kilfoil by May 27.
The June meeting will honor the stations of Adah, Esther and Electa. All who have held one of these stations are invited to attend.
