Married.-On Wednesday evening Sept. 25, 1889, at the home of Mr. R. A. Scott near Baxter, Mr. George Alfree and Miss Alice O. Scott-Rev. W. W. Hazen officiating clergyman.

The bridegroom is a son of John w. Alfree Esq of this city, and is one of our most upright and exemplary young men, in whom a large circle of friends here have ever taken the kindliest interest. We are glad to know what in choosing a wife he has wisely selected one f the best young ladies within the bounds of Jasper county and that happiness is sure to crown the home which they will soon begin for themselves. They came to Newton on Friday where receptions were given them at the homes Mr. J. W. Alfree and Mr. Charlie Vanatta, on Friday and Saturday evenings. They will soon go to Omaha where George has a good situation. ~ The Newton Journal, October 1889.
