NEW JEWELRY FIRM

About the first of December there will start a new jewelry firm, Davis and Parmenter. The firm will be located in Skiff’s Drug Store, which has recently been elegantly fitted up for the purpose.

The head of the firm, Mr. Davis, has lived in Newton for several years, having been associated with Mr. Westbrook and Co., Jewelers, on the south side of the square; parties acquainted with Mr. Davis need not be told of his attainments as a work man.

Davis and Parmenter will put in a new line
of watches, clocks, jewelry and diamonds! Diamonds! Ah, that sounds impressive, probably they will not have many to start with, perhaps a peck or two, just enough to give a nice assortment, for diamonds are high this year, very high now, the glass blowers having been on strike nearly 2 months now.

The firm will carry the best make of spectacles procurable, including a nice line of gold spectacles and nose glasses. The holidays will be here before long and if you buy watches without examining Davis and Parmenter stock you miss a good thing, for they intend being particularly low in prices and especially sweet in order to win their share of trade.
