Wedding Bells

Mr. Will Ammons and Miss Kate Russell, two of the best young people near Murphy, were married last evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Russell.

About fifty guests were present, most of them being the single cousins and intimate friends of the bride. Rev. S. J. Geddes, of Des Moines, performed the ceremony, and Miss Jennie Russell, of Newton, played the wedding march. The bride, charming in a pale blue wool dress trimmed with pearl passementrie, had dainty flowers in her jet black hair and carried a bouquet. The groom in the conventional suit looked handsome and happy. Master Ralph Russell, of Newton, as page, and little Miss Margaret Geddes, of Des Moines, as flower girl, preceded the bridal couple as they came in to be married.

A fine supper added to the pleasures of the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ammons will remain in the Russell home this winter and next spring will move on the Harry Van Epps farm, now occupied by Alton Reynolds. It was recently purchased by Mr. Ammons. ~ The Newton Journal, 10-2-1895.
