Married-At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dinsmore in Prairie City on the fifth inst., Mr. Walter Cornell and Miss Eldora Dinsmore. On Wednesday of last week the bride and groom were guests of their uncle Mr. W. H. Phillips, in Sherman Township. In the evening they were visited by a part of serenaders, who made urgent request to see the bride and finally Mr. Phillips, always ready for a joke, led out a lady with a light wrap thrown over her head, and introduced her as the bride, who after politely and gracefully receiving their greetings, removed the wrap, reveling the pleasant face of Mrs. Philips-a bride indeed, but of some 30 years experience-who enjoyed the joke on the serenaders as much as any one could. ~ The Newton Journal, 12-18-1889.
