Miss Emma Upton, a most estimable young lady, who resided with Rev. R. A. Carnine, during his pastorate of the M. E. Church in this city, was married at her home near New Sharon, on 20th uit.,-the happy groom being Mr. Geo. Tallon. During her stay in this city, Emma won a warm place in the hearts of many of our people. The groom, the New Sharon Star says, "is one of Union Township's most enterprising and thoroughly honest, upright young men, who deserves and is making a success of life." The high standing of the young couple among their neighbors and friends is fully attested by the fine array of useful and costly presents presented to them on their wedding day. ~ The Newton Journal 1-11-1888.
