Hymenial.- The society event of last week in this city was the marriage of Mr. Wm. Bergman and Miss Jessie Painter, at the home of the bride, on Wednesday evening, January 4th, 1888, Rev. David Brown, of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Those present say that Jessie looked lovely in her bridal robe of green surray silk and the groom happy in the possession of the bride he had won. They are both among our most popular and highly respected people, and that their union may prove a happy one is the earnest wish of all. Mr. Bergman is the junior member of the firm of Maytag & Bergman, proprietors of one of our leading agricultural implement houses. After an evening of enjoyment and congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Bergman left on the fast train for Chicago and Cincinnati, where they will spend their honey-moon, and on their return trip will stop for a couple weeks at Freeport, Illinois, the old home of Mr. Bergman. ~ The Newton Journal 1-11-1888.
