Baptist Church Organized at Metz-1911

A new Baptist church organization has been affected at Metz. A committee has been appointed to decide on a building. Either a vacant church building or some other will be obtained or a new church will be built. The committee will report next Monday night.

The Organization starts with about twenty members, who signed the constitution. Twenty-two or three converts and there will be almost as many more converts, who will be received soon into the organization.

Rev. Newton G. Thomas, of the Newton Baptist Church, will be their pastor for the coming year. He will probably arrange for the preaching service to be held in the afternoon. Mr. Thomas conducted a series of meetings at Metz just before Christmas time and the result was good and he has interested the whole community in the good work, to such an extent, that he seemed to be the man to help them until everything was in good working order. ~ Newspaper unknown, 4 Jan 1911.
