Married-At the residence of Mrs. Lowry, near Ira, Sunday evening May 15, 1892, Mr. Charles E. McIntire and Miss Lizzie Lowry both of Jasper County, Iowa. Rev. W. L. Brandt, pastor of the Congregational Church of Baxter officiating.

The wedding was a quiet one with none but the immediate relatives participating.

Immediately after the ceremony and congratulations a bountiful supper was served, which was all the more appreciated for the hearty social good cheer indulged in during the repast.

The groom, Mr. Charles E. McIntire is the only son of Evastus McIntire, a wealthy and prominent farmer of the county, and is himself of good financial standing, of high moral worth and well and favorably known in the social circles at Ira. He has recently assumed the entire management of the farm where he and his bride will make their home.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Susan Lowry, who owns a large and valuable farm near Ira.

Lizzie is a true, noble Christian girl and beloved by a wide circle of friends.

The congratulations were many and hearty, even “Old Sol” brushed the clouds away to smile down his hearty approval.

May their life’s voyage be as bright and sun shiney as their wedding day, is the wish of all who know them. ~ The Newton Journal, May 18, 1892
