Carwin Cooper, plating - Final award of $18.17 for a total of $35.94 for his idea to use flat washers on rivet press to reduce the wear on cotter pins. Cotter pins were used in the top press plate of rivet machine and would break frequently and cause damage to press. ~ The Maytag Bulletin, February 11, 1965
