This week has been fine weather, very warm for this time of the year, up till Friday night we got a find rain which was needed very much.

Mr. A. Hammer returned home Saturday from near Newton where he has been helping to care for his aged mother who has been sick for some time.

Milton Haines spent all last week in Grinnell.

Fred Varenkamp from Pella spent a part of last week here with relatives and friends.

The lightning Friday night struck Ira DeHoep's barn and burned it to the ground. They got everything out but one calf and some harness.

Will Tice purchased ten head of mules at a sale near Oskaloosa this last week and when he got them home one of them kicked him in the fact hurting him quite badly.

Mike Brunner purchased a Mason automobile the fore part of last week.

Mrs. Clyde Mitchell went Thursday afternoon to visit her parents near New Sharon for a few days.

Miss Mino Wilyz is at home with her parents for a few days.

Rev. Mansen loaded his car of goods here Monday. He will now make his future home at Eddyville.

John Bushong spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Jane Haines.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Shipman left this week for their home at Columbus Junction where they will make a short stay and then will come back to Sully.

Will Nickerson and wife from New Sharon are at the parental Smith home for a few days.

Mrs. E. S. Haines and little son, Tracy, spent a few days the fore part of the week at New Sharon. ~ The Newton Journal (Newton, Iowa), Wednesday, March 30, 1910.
