H. Cowles went home Monday after closing a six month term of school.

Mrs. Jarret Smith started to her home in Minnesota after spending almost a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien and other relatives.

Milton Haines went to Grinnell Tuesday and visited with his brother, D. F. Haines and family till Friday.

Bertha Talbot and Myrtle Haines spent a few days last week at New Sharon with Myrtle's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Shafer.

Frank Sherman and family, H. Welle, Dr. Smith and Mr. Conbernice, attended the automobile show in Des Moines last week.

Mrs. Landmessar spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. L Lawson and family this last week.

The mumps are still all the style.

Louis Le Coque, from Pella, is the new clerk at Welles store.

The ladies of the Mission Sunday School have cleaned and papered the Taylor house and their pastor, Rev. F. G. Aylmore, will now occupy it.

Mrs. E. J. Haines has been quite poorly for the past few days with heart trouble.

Mrs. Fleming, from near Peoria, spent a part of last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Willock, of this place. ~ The Newton Journal (Newton, Iowa), Wednesday, March 16, 1910
