VANLEW, James
Farmer; S. 3; P. O. Newton; born in Union Co., Penn., May 1840. Married Elizabeth HOLLINGSWORTH in Pennsylvania in 1864. She was born in Pennsylvania in April 1837. They have seven children - David A., Joseph M., Harlan H., Demetrius D., Mary M., Anna V. and William W. Has five acres of the college divided into lots, called Wittemburg, valued at $500. He moved to Iowa in 1864. He enlisted in the 137th Penn. V. I., August 1862; was in the Army of Potomac; served nine months and was discharged with his regiment.
