DIX, G. J.
Firm of Schenk and Dix, proprietors of the Monroe City Mills. He was born in Jefferson Co., NY in 1833, and in 1858 he came West and engaged in milling in Dubuque, IA, until the Spring of 1865. He then moved to Pella, Marion Co., IA where he ran the Washington Flour Mills until 1867. He then moved to this town which he has made his home. He married Miss Isabella RICHARDSON in Dubuque, IA 8 Sep 1862. She was also born in Jefferson Co. NY.
