WESTBROOK, L. R.
Clerk of the District and Circuit Courts of Jasper Co., Iowa. Resides corner Farmer and North streets. He was born 26 Mar 1843 in Sparta, Morrow Co., OH. In 1864 he came to Newton, Iowa and first engaged in teaching school. On 1 Jan 1869 he was appointed Deputy Clerk in this office, which position held five years and nine months, then resigned. In the Fall of 1876 he was elected to his present position. He married Emma TOWNSEND 7 May 1868. She was born 29 Mar 1849 in Lewiston, NY.
