SWIGART, S. G.
Farmer, Sec. 24. He was born 9 Jun 1809 in Richland co., OH, and in 1852 went to Fort Wayne, IN and engaged in millwright and engineering which he continued for eighteen years. In 1870 he came to Jasper Co., Iowa. he owns eighty-seven acres of land valued at $50 an acre. He married Elizabeth MILLER in 1850. She was born 1832 in Richland Co., OH. They had eleven children, ten living--John Y., George W., Winfield L., Adaline O., Martha A., Mary E., Clinton D., Amy A., Mason F., Arthur MD. They lost Clare Jane, aged 2 years. He is president of the School Board. They are members of the Church of God.
