RICHARDS, Samuel
Retired. He resided corner Race and Market streets. He was born 20 Aug 1818 in Stark Co., OH. In 1869 he came to Jasper Co., Iowa and built a planing-mill. While engaged in this business he lost three fingers and thumb of this right hand. He at once sold out this business and transferred his interest to the grist-mill business, which he now owns with his son. He also owns about 400 acres of land, all improved. He has been a member of the Council. He married Kezia BROWN in 1843. She was born in 1823 in Stark Co., OH. They had six children, four living---Adrien B., Albert J., Mary B. and William E.
