MANN, W. M.
Firm of Mann & Son, carriage and wagon manufacturing. He was born 6 Sep 1846 in Augusta, OH. He married Lucy BAILEY 24 Nov 1870. She was born 2 Nov 1850 in Fulton Co., OH. They have one child---William D., born 8 Apr 1874. His grandfather, John J. Mann was born 1 Jul 1824 in Muskingum Co., OH. In 1850 he came to Jasper Co., Iowa, and in 1856 commenced his present business. He was Clerk of Clear Creek Twp. from 1850 to 1853. He married Mary MANFULL in 1845. She was born 1826 in Carroll Co., OH. They have five children William M., W. G., W. C., E. S., and Bertha J. William M., enlisted in 1861, Co C, 22nd I.V.I. and served three years. He was honorably discharged. He was engaged at Port Gibson, Jacksonville, and Black River. On 22 May 1862 he lost the middle finger of his left hand at the charge of Vicksburg.
