Kusel, Henry L.,
firm of Kusel & Scribner, druggists, Masonic Block, west side square; born March 12, 1831, in Stockholm, Sweden; in 1849 came to New York, then went to california; in 1853, returned to New York; in 1854, came to Newton, Iowa. Enlisted in 1861, in Co. B, 13th Iowa V. I.; served one year, and was discharged on account of a wound recevied at Shiloh, for which he receives a pension. Has been U.S. Deputy Marshal. Married Mary A. Drew, in 1861; she was born in 1836, in Maine; have four children - Lucinda, Henry, Fred and Oliver; have a step-son - Ernest Hall.
