Farmer; Sec. 23; P. O. Colfax; born in Ohio in 1834; came to Jasper Co. in 1861; has 160 acres of land, valued at $45 per acre. Married Miss Rebecca A. KENNEDY April 1862; she was born in Ohio March 1843. They have five children - Edward E., Lowell B., Harvey H., Leonard and an infant not named. Cast a vote for Fremont, and is a Republican to the present time. Has held offices from School Directopr to Justice of the Peace. He is a member of the M. E. Church.
