PHILLIPS, Wm. H.
Farmer; S. 24; P. O. Newton; born in Jefferson Co., Ohio, February 20, 1832; when eight months old his parents moved to Knox Co., taking him with them. Here he lived till 1860, at which time he came to this county, and located where he now lives. He has always been engaged in farming. Married Sarah V. WALTERS July 28, 1859; they have three children - William F., Charles H., and Sadie D. Mr. Phillips and wife are members of the Methodist Church; politically he is an active Republican, and has held several Township offices since coming to this county. Owns a farm of 280 acres, valued at $14,000, upon which he has a new and handsome house just erected at an expense of $2,000; also, has two fine orchards of about 600 trees, and is largely engaged in raising hogs having at present about 150 head.
