MATHEWS, A. R.
Farmer; Sec. 6; P. O. Lynnville; owns 280 acres of prairie, valued at $11,000, thirty acres of timber, valued at $500, and town property valued at $1,000; born in Cass Co., Ill., April 17, 1829; came to this county in 1850; stayed one Winter and returned to Illinois; remained till the Spring of 1852, and went across the plains to California, where he was engaged in mining till 1857, and returned by way of the Isthmus to Illinois, and July 29, of that year, married Mary Jane LOWRENCE, who was born in Cass Co., Ill., July 28, 1835; they the same year moved to this county, where they have since resided; their children are Millard F., born June 28, 1858; Lewis F., July 29, 1860; Charles M., Dec. 23, 1862; George E., Aug. 15, 1865, and Freddie R., Jan. 1, 1870.
