SHOEMAKER, C. T.
Merchant; Kellogg; born in Bedford Co., Penn., in 1837; went to California in 1857; returned in 1862; moved to Henry Co., Ill., in 1865, and located in this county, and went into business in this town in 1868. He married Miss Annie M. RESSER in 1867; she was born in Pennsylvania in 1850; they have three children-- William A., born March 19, 1870; Mable Blanch, born May 19, 1873; Philip E., born July 2, 1876. He has a large, substantial brick storehouse well filled with a general assortment of goods suitable for a first-class county trade; he owns his residence, business block and several houses and lots in town worth $10,000; also two farms, worth $8,000. ~ "Kellogg Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
