DICKEY, George W.
Farmer; Sec. 34; P. O. Grinnell; was born June 18, 1853, in Waldo Co., Maine, and came to this county in 1868. Owns 160 acres of land, valued at $35 per acre. He is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and Republican in politics. His wife Sarah J. READ, was born in Darke Co., Ohio, December 27, 1853; they were married January 24, 1878. Mr. DICKEY has been a School Teacher and School Director; Mrs. DICKEY has also been a school teacher. They are well educated, and have a well selected library, and a very pleasant home. Their farm is under a high state of cultivation. George W. DICKEY is a son of Elbridge DICKEY, who was born in Waldo Co., Maine, April 8, 1812, and came to this State in 1858; was married to Sarah Ann LEACH November 21, 1838; she was born August 22, 1813; their children's names are William A., born March 16, 1840; Ann S., born August 18, 1841; Elbridge G., born April 10, 1843; Joseph P., born June 12, 1846; Maria H., born Dec. 12, 1847; George W., born June 18, 1853.
