ADAMS, Aaron
P.O. Monroe. He was born in Allegheny Co., PA in 1828, where he remained until 1854, and then moved to this State and settled in this county about three miles west of Monroe. In 1862 he responded to his country's call and enlisted as 2nd Lieutenant in co. E. 40th Regt. I.V.I. He served three years, was honorably discharged and returned home. He was appointed Postmaster in Aug 1866, which office he has held ever since. He married Miss L. P. GREGORY in Marion Co., IA. She was born in Louisa Co., IA. They have eight children. Mr Adams and family are members of the United Presbyterian Church.
