DEAKIN, James E.; Farmer; Sec. 19; P. O. Vandalia; was born in Illinois Sept. 24, 1838, and came to this county in 1846; rents fifty acres of land. He is a member of the Baptist Church; Republican. His wife, Vianna M. HARTMAN, was born in Cooper Co., Mo., Oct. 4, 1843; they were married Nov. 19, 1862, and have four children - Annie L., born Jan. 7, 1864; Ella L., born Feb. 2, 1866; Mary L., born Sept. 29, 1868; Maggie May, born Sept. 15, 1875. Mr. DEAKIN enlisted on the 24th of Sept., 1861, in Co. E, 14th I. V.
