DANLEY, William; Farmer and stock raiser; Sec. 4; P. O. Prairie City; born in Butler Co., Ohio, June 17, 1823; came to this county in 1856; has 440 acres of land, valued at $17,000. Belongs to the Christian Church. He married Harriett TOTTEN; she was born in Butler Co., Ohio, and is the mother of nine living children-James, Maranda, William, George, Albert, Cyrus, Ellis, Martha J. and Rosa L. Emigrated from Ohio to Benton Co., Ind.; lived there four years; from there to Mahaska Co., Iowa; lived there one and a half years, thence to Jasper Co., where he has resided since; came through with teams and camped out on land on the place where Mr. H. PATCHEN now lives; for milling he used to go to Red Rock, twenty miles; came to this State a poor man, but by industry and economy has made himself and family a fine home; has one of the best farm houses in the township, and is among the wealthiest citizens. ~ "The History of Jasper County" (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878), 638
