You are welcome Cathy. In case you do not have, 22 y/o NY born Augustus is indexed as SAWDEY and 26 y/o Henry, also NY born is indexed as SAWLEY. Both are coopers by trade. And when I went back to verify those surname spellings, I found this. Something may have happened to Lyman as well. In Jackson twp, in neighboring Jones co. I found this household. anthony waggoner 54, france. ANN ELIZA waggoner, 49 Oh. Mary 15 & (female) Abiah 6 Waggoner, both Ia. and CHARLES E. SAWDEY 12 Ia. These are all Ancestry's indexes so may differ from other sources. You'll probably have to find any cemetery information before you try to find an article in a newspaper regarding their passing. Would probably be in a Maquoketa newspaper. You might also consider ordering the 1856 Ia. state census for Jackson co. from an LDS Family History center near you, (or maybe the museum has it). It was the first state census to name all household members and also included how long each had been in the state. Good luck in your quests. Dick
