Jean, Have you checked with the Jackson Co. Historical Society & Museum to see what assistance they can provide? Have you checked with the Maquoketa library to find the availibilty of archived newspapers? Have you checked with the Ia. Dept. of Health for a death record? Any of these routes would be better than hoping to find someone who is also tracing this line. The only thing you should ever assume in genealogy is that you are the only one researching your lines. By the nature & content of your posts, if anyone else is performing the same search, they will find you. Dick
