In answer to your question to where in the world Gordon's Ferry is, I was talking with my mom and reading this question, she said that is is in Jackson county, between Massey Station and Bellevue, the actual spot is not for sure, I have tried to get it on mapquest, and the best bet is the current map and you could see a place that is called Gears Ferry on the Illinois side, and just sort diagonal accross there we think that is would be located, as close as we can figure out. My grandfather fished from there many many years ago. We do not know how to get there, but we can find out sometime and let you know if you are interested in the information. Hope this helps and gives you an idea of its location. I read on one of the sites that this place had a post office and a railroad station and an express office at one time.
