I had a principal in elementary school by that name (I think his full first name was possibly Delbert?).
He moved in the early seventies out of Bellevue. I did run into him again in the early nineties in Charles City, IA. He came into the store that I was working at there.
I did see in the Bellevue Herald Leader that he had passed away within the last couple of years.
