Pat, Have you checked with the Maquoketa library to see if they have old newspapers on microfilm? The Historical Society located at the fairgrounds may be able to assist you as well. As for the rest of your request, you give no information on John's age or nativity nor the names, ages or nativities of other family members. You do not indicate what data you already have on this family. I would not want to waste your time or mine for example, to look for him on the 1930 census if you already have it. Dick
