Bob, What is your source for this family being in Iowa, specifically Jackson county, in the time period you indicate? I find nothing on Peter for 1850-1860, nor anything on Nathan in 1870. I did find them as you did in 1880 Hennepin co. Mn. and found where the widow Kate filed for a civil war pension on Nathan Dutiel in 1890 Hennepin co. In addition, the widow Katie Dutiel is in the 5th ward of Minneapolis in 1900 but the older children including the ones indicated as born Iowa have left the household. According to the benefit info, Nathan served with the 8th Il. infantry. Dick
